GORE-TEX® Paclite® Technology garments are made from a GORE-TEX® membrane, bonded to an outer shell material, then covered by a protective layer made of an oleophobic (oil hating) substance and carbon. The benefit: an extremely lightweight, packable garment. Special GORE-SEAM® tape technology ensures that all seams are 100% waterproof.

The GORE-TEX® membrane has 9 billion pores per square inch, with each pore 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside. But these same pores are large enough for moisture vapor to pass through, so your body's perspiration is able to escape and you won’t feel clammy or uncomfortable inside your jacket.

The program also promotes worker health and safety and social and environmental compliance and encourages dialog between workers and management.

Patagonia is currently using 69% recycled or renewable materials and it’s aiming to raise the portion up to 100% in the future. In an attempt to improve the lives of those who make Patagonia products, Patagonia offers 192 styles that are Fair Trade Certified for sewing. In 1994, Patagonia made the decision to take a stand against chemically intensive cotton and switch to organically grown cotton throughout the line. Op dit moment onderzoeken we of de materialen die Patagonia gebruikt ook onder vergelijkbare arbeidsomstandigheden worden geproduceerd. Nadat bekend werd dat zij katoen uit de Xinjiang regio in China halen, is het aannemelijk dat Patagonia wél goed let op de productieomstandigheden bij het maken van kleding, maar helaas nog niet bij het maken van de grondstoffen en materialen.

Milieuvriendelijk: het beschermen van de natuur staat voor Patagonia voorop. Daarom zijn ze constant bezig met innoveren om zo duurzaam mogelijk te produceren, van materialen (biologisch katoen, gerecyclede materialen, innovatieve materialen) tot productiemethoden.  Daarnaast biedt Patagonia ook de mogelijkheid om jouw kleding te repareren: ze willen dat je je kleding zo lang mogelijk gebruikt, het liefst levenslang. 

Goed doel: Patagonia steunt verschillende goede doelen, onder het mom ' 1% for the planet' voor het behoudt en de restauratie van de natuur. Sinds 1985 houdt Patagonia zich hieraan. 

Weekendbee is in 2018 gestart door Aissa en Jukka. Terwijl ze over de wereld reisden, en de mooiste natuurgebieden bezochten, ondervonden ze direct hoe vervuild de natuur was. Aissa en Jukka zijn beiden natuurliefhebbers en besloten daarom om meer duurzame sportkleding en outdoorkleding te dragen. Na flink wat zoeken vonden ze dat er eigenlijk heel veel duurzame opties waren. Zo kwamen ze bij het idee om Weekendbee te beginnen. Zo kan iedereen gemakkelijk duurzame sportkleding vinden!
