Previously deployed in active duty for up to 25 years, fighting fires across the UK, the hard-wearing fire-hose is perfectly suited for your daily commute. This classic shape will fit a 14" laptop and has both an internal zip pocket and a padded full-width open pocket for your tablet. The bag can be carried in the hand and also comes with a detachable strap that enables it to be worn comfortably on the shoulder.
The Elvis & Kresse Compact Briefcase is made from genuine decommissioned fire-hose and the lining is reclaimed military-grade parachute silk.
We also offer a Limited Edition 'Print Room' Compact Briefcase. Made from reclaimed printing blankets combined with our signature decommissioned fire-hose, this version makes a bold statement. The re-engineered printing blanket creates a visually stunning textile that is strong and beautiful to the touch. This iteration maintains all the design features of the full fire-hose version as described above.
The Fire-hose CollectionWe fell in love with London's decommissioned fire-hose back in 2005 through a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade. We took this lifesaving material home determined to breathe new life into it and save it from its otherwise inevitable end in landfill, and vowed to donate 50% of our profits to charity.
For over a decade we have been rescuing all of London's retired fire-hose by lovingly handcrafting them into sustainable luxury bags and accessories. Every year since, Elvis & Kresse have donated 50% of the profits from the Fire-hose Collection to The Fire Fighters Charity. This heroic material, once used to save lives, gets a second chance to keep giving back.
Our Fire-hose pieces are more than just a collection, they represents a whole new kind of luxury. One that is sustainable, ethical, transparent, generous and kind.

Sinds 2005 redden Elvis & Kresse grondstoffen en transformeren deze naar luxe lifestyle-accessoires. Zo gebruikt Elvis & Kresse bijvoorbeeld de leerresten van Burberry in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, materiaal dat anders afval zou zijn.
Eerlijk geproduceerd: de tassen van Elvis & Kresse worden eerlijk gemaakt in Engeland. Zij betalen hun medewerkers een leefbaar loon. Het label heeft een eigen productielocatie en dit is een gecertificeerde sociale onderneming.
Milieuvriendelijk: Elvis & Kresse maakt tassen van gerecycled materiaal. Zij verzamelen 12 verschillende afvalstromen en hergebruiken ze. Van brandslang tot leerafval en theezakjes. De volledige lijst is te vinden op hun website! Het label zuivert hun eigen water en is bezig met het bouwen van een volledig circulair waterzuiveringssysteem zodat er geen water het terrein verlaat. Over een paar jaar hopen ze volledig zelfvoorzienend te zijn met hun eigen water. Alle verpakkingen worden met de hand gemaakt in hun werkplaats in Kent. Van gerecycled materiaal, zoals oude dekens en theezakjes.
Lokaal geproduceerd: de collecties worden volledig lokaal gemaakt in Engeland, ook van lokale materialen.
Goed doel: Elvis & Kresse doneert 50% van hun winst aan goede doelen, zoals de Fire Fighters Charity en Barefoot College.
