This hammered earring is elegant yet understated, bringing those philosophical vibes to the table wherever you wear them. Due to them being made from pure recycled sterling silver they are an epitome of circularity, even though they're pear-shaped.

This piece of jewellery is sadly not handmade by ourselves in Vienna and Munich, but manufactured by our supplier in Italy as we sadly need to grow our business a bit more before we can afford the necessary tools to make this ourselves, but we still wanted to bring this design to you.
In order to bring attention to the wonderous maritime creatures that we have named our label after, we name all of our jewellery pieces after squid and octopuses and want to tell you about why they are so cool.
Euprymna scolopes, also called the Hawaiian Bobtail Squid is a tiny squid, native to the Hawaiian Archipelago and is renowned for its symbiotic relationship with bioluminescent bacteria. The Hawaiian Bobtail Squid carries bioluminescent bacteria within a special light organ located on its mantle. At night, when it ventures away from the safety of the seafloor to hunt, the bacteria emit light that matches the intensity of moonlight coming from above, effectively rendering the squid nearly invisible to predators looking from below. This unique adaptation allows the Hawaiian Bobtail Squid to blend seamlessly with its surroundings and escape detection.
The earrings are delivered in a squïd jewellery box which you can use to keep your earrings safe or you can reuse it to keep other small objects, like cool stones or seashells from a holiday, tiny love letters, or anything that brings you joy. The packaging is from beautiful vintage art catalogues, posters, or magazines that we recycle. Using resources that are already out there strains our environment less, and also allows us to create unique and individual packaging so every order is it's own experience.
Squïd Studios was founded in 2023 by Anna, Natha and Pia. The brand celebrates sustainability, inclusion and diversity while creating empowering pieces.
Eco-friendly: Squïd embraces a circular philosophy. Even though your items should last a lifetime, they offer repair services and even host free repair & upcycling workshops in Vienna and Munich. Keep an eye out on their events page!
They use recycled Sterling silver, freshwater pearls and deadstock fabrics.
Fair & local production: The brand started with only handmade pieces handmade by the founder team. If you're ordering from Germany, the pieces will be made by Natha, while Anna makes the pieces for the Austrian market. However, they recently increased their range with jewellery made in italy. The clothing is made by Farhan in a small atelier in Vienna.
